A beautiful sight, regardless of what the aquatic behemoth could do in terms of sheer carnage it does look magnificent. The environment fully captures the scale of the beast, the hulking pillars pale in comparison to it, the horns almost reach up the surface to further cement the size. Scales are scars are stunning, makes me wonder what could possibly leave a lasting mark on the face, let alone the horns. It is truly a magnificent beast.
But enough as to the theme, the work is what makes it great. The colors and textures along the dragon are life like, it creates similarities between other marine life, fish scales for example could be related easily. The scarring is evident from first glance, it stands out, even amongst the backdrop due to bright, crimson marks, flowing well with the rest of the piece.
Some minor issues around the horns is that the scales seem to continue up along the scales, rather than being distinct. Fins would have added to believability, but it could have also impacted on the visual appeal so it may have been better with your decision.
All in all, a very good piece, well made and to a fine standard, well done.
Man what can I say other that Brilliant technique and style to this imaginative Beauty!!! I love the depth of this and how vivid the colors are!!! They practically caress the edges as if light themselves, it gives form and texture to the look of this fierce beast!!
There's such attention to detail, I love the cracks along the eye and horn that really adds to the character of this beast. To see its burning interior glowing through shows the heated nature of the beast!! An then there's those piercing eyes staring you down as it seems to hold you in its gaze preparing to strike!!
