Speedpaint of Mew and Mewtwo :)

Ok... so, this is the first time I draw something Pokemon-related. I loved Pokemon since I was a very young child and I still love it! :) I probably wont draw many of these, but ever since I watched the first Pokemon movie, this picture of Mew, watching its own clone and the strange relationship coming up between them, stuck in my head. I tried to draw the Pokemon not in cartoonish, but my own style... I hope you like, and don't mind, that I didn't draw fantasy this time! ^^

edit: Thank you all sooooooooo much for your comments, favs and critiques! This is such an honour for me! I read through all comments, but I am not able to answer them all...

Simply breath taking. I've seen a lot of your art, and this just blows my mind. Your style is unique and your pen (tablet wise I guess) is true. It would take me twenty years just to be that good. You have a great thing going here. Pokemon, like so many of the other 1990s children, was one of the main show I watched growing up. It stuns me to see people like you take something so beloved and turn it into the most amazing fan art I could ever see. I love the concept, the style, the shading, everything! I'd say keep it up, and you'll be able to branch from that like you have with your other art. :)

Much Critiqued Love,

It is a little bit difficult to judge anatomy on something that isn't quite human or animal, but I'll try my best.

I can tell already that you seem to have a good grasp on how to paint and shade. There's a clear sense of 3 dimensions and material structure (by that I mean what things are made of as presented in the picture.)

The only thing I find a bit bizarre is Mew's expression. I know that's kind of the whole purpose of the picture, but for some reason I never imagined Mew looking like that. Mew always seemed to be the kind of creature to look for happiness in anything. And whatever seemed sad he expressed curiosity in response. Mew's tail also isn't that long. In addition I don't exactly remember Mewtwo having thick calves as those, but I could be wrong.

The look of sadness in his eyes is the heart of this piece, for me.
