Sooo, I just recently fell in love with all the realistic Pokemon paintings by :iconarvalis: ... So I decided to create some kind of a "fan-fanart" ^^ I created everything by my own, it took many many hours of work, but it was soo much fun!! And I surely asked :iconarvalis: for his permission to post this! :D He really really liked it (which made me soo happy, cause he is a huge rolemodel for me) and maybe we are even going to do a collab/trade some time!! :la:

Soo about this painting: Lapras was always one of my favourite Pokemon.. I imagined it to look like some kind of a big calm and friendly seaturtle mixed with a oceanic dinosaur. I soooo wish Pokemon were real, it would be the best thing ever!! D:

Huhu na dann schreib ich dir auch mal eine Kritik :)

Zuerst einmal muss man wohl sagen das Lapras das beste Wasserpokemon aus Generation 1 ist. Damals als ich die rote Version das erste mal gespielt habe und zum ersten mal ein Lapras gefangen hatte, fand ich es absolut genial und ich hatte es sofort ins Herz geschlossen :).

Deine realistische Version des Lapras ist wundebar geworden. Wundebare Texturen, der Panzer mit dem leichten Pflanzenwuchs bzw. Algen ist dir sehr gut gelungen. Auch der Gesichtsausdruck bringt die ruhige Art des Lapras wunderbar zur Geltung.

Ich hätte das ganze Bild noch ein wenig schöner gefunden, wenn du einen Unterweasserhintergrund gemalt hättest, aber da du ja das Konzept eines anderen Künstlers übernehmen wolltest geht das schon in Ordnung :).

Den einzigen Stern den man hier abziehen muss ist wohl bei der Originalität, da du das Konzept ja übernommen hast, alles in allem aber wiedermal ein großartiges Artwork von dir und es ist jedesmal wieder eine Freue neue Bilder von dir zu sehen.

Mach weiter so und ich freue mich schon auf dein nächstes Bild :)

This picture is amazing!! I love how you added in the details of your interpetation while still keeping it similar to the best piggyback-er ever known to mankind. I love the details of the plants and sea life growing between the spires on its shell and how you were able to incorporate the beak and feelers infront of the horns to show your view of it's close dinosaur relations. I love how no detail skipped your mind and that no matter if they share your views or not, no one will be confused as to what you wished to portray. I am a huge fan of your art, I'm pretty sure I've favorited every one of your masterpieces by now and everytime you blow my mind with your talent and skill. Keep working at it and thank you for deciding to share your visions with the world!!!

Mantine doesnt look right, it doesnt have arms on the side of its head, manta rays simply have large flanges on each side of the mouth...

There should be like, I don't know, a group or something, of artists devoted to redesign ALL the pokemons in this particular fashion.
