-- Favs and comments are highly highly appreciated!! --
This is amazing. I swear, I stared at it for five minutes. Entei looked a bit weird, but he just does anyway, so that wasn't anything different. Raikou looks like he's about to kill you, and that's how he looks all of the time. He's supposed to be the more frightening of the trio. The storm going on in the background of Raikou's picture is just incredible. And don't get me started about how amazing Suicune looks. I always pictured him as a wolf, and it looks amazing. I love the ice shard (I think it's an ice shard) up his front leg. It's beautiful. I love it.
Without doubt this is the best representation of the Legendary Trio Suicune, Raikou and Entei I have seen browsing through the plethora of realistic representations of pokemon out there. Before I go into the nitty gritty details of it all, this is a fantastic and mystical deviation, something certainly to be proud of.
The way the legendaries have been represented is very powerful as it appears you are staring into the gaze of each one (especially Raikou) The fact that they are standing in their own, serene yet dynamic enviroments contributes greatly to the vision of this trifecta. It also reflects on the fact that these three pokemon are very different in nature in the game itself. To sum that up, the vision of this is fantastic, and is certainly what sparked me to write this positive review in the first place.
As for originality, many things like this have been done before. Many a time have I seen a realistic pokemon that has been based off of a real-life animal (which is a great way of creating them, mind you.) What makes this deviation stand out is the intensity of colours and backgrounds that really place these pokemon into realms of their own. A true standout from the stock standard 'realistic pokemon' deviations. It's also great to see you are representing other legendaries (such as Diagla) in this way to since this vibrancy without doubt stands out amazingly.
The technique used to compile this together is extremely well done. The only thing I have even remotely negative-wise to say about this deviation is that the 3-way contrast between the three legendaries dies off somewhat between Suicune and Raikou. Personally, I would like to have seen more of a purple hue on Suicune's portion just to tie the whole contrast effect together.
You have definitely mastered a number of techniques when it comes to creating textures. The rocky, crystal 'crowns' on the legendaries, their different styles of fur, and the effects of clouds, snow and lightning are all excellently put together. The colouring of the aurora, lighting of the magma glow, and the reflection of light off of the crowns are just a few of the different aspects of this deviation that have been constructed perfectly.
The overall impact is one of power, mysticism, beauty and creativity. It's a deviation that brings out the animal-like nature in pokemon that were otherwise elusive and unknown in the game. I'm sorry to hear that someone had the stupidity to report this beautiful deviation. I truly hope that you create more like this in the future, as it is extraordinary.
(My favourite is Entei, for you have brought out the playful nature in him. Look at those cute, fluffy paws of his :3 )
Suicune looks calm and cool.. just like a calm water surface.. Raikou looks like some sort of a beast or perhaps a one-headed cerberus that emerged from hell, ready to pounce on something and kill it.. the dark background makes him look fiercer, you did a good job on making him look frightening... Entei looks like a lion..
This is amazing! I really love the colors you used for each of the pictures, and the realism is absolutely beautiful. This has nothing to do with the quality of the artwork, but Suicune is a cheetah, not a wolf.
